In Tune with the Future: Developing 7 Critical Life Skills Through Music

Today’s preschoolers will enter the workforce in around 2035, but what the world looks like then is anyone’s guess.

What we do know for sure is that as early childhood professionals, we need to focus on developing skills that won’t just help preschoolers to transition to school, but to thrive in life now and into the future.

There are 7 critical skills that every child needs to master in order to flourish; collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, social and emotional skills, resilience, communication and leadership skills.

In this highly interactive workshop, Founder of Australia’s first “Music Kinder” Galina Zenin will explore how these 7 skills can be supported and strengthened through music.  Using real-life examples and hands-on experiences, Galina will demonstrate the influence of music on brain development and overall well-being.

  • Enhance children’s skills though daily music experiences

  • Maximise opportunities for each child’s learning through transitional songs

  • Boost children’s brain development

  • Stimulate children’s desire for lifelong learning

  • Participants will be able to relate this session to the revised NQF Quality Areas and EYLF.
